A Review of September 9th

Today began a new era in the St. Awesome’s 20’s and 30’s history. We met together for the first time without Jimmy and made a go of it. Here’s what we discussed.
·         The 2nd Sunday of each month is good for everyone, so we’re sticking with that.
·         We’re keeping the idea that each month, one person will bring the lesson/homily and discussion will follow. Jon Janacek will be leading October’s meeting.
·         December’s 2nd Sunday will be a no-go, so please think on it and let us know if you’d prefer to move it up a week, back a week, pick a different day of the week besides Sunday, or skip December altogether.
·         Going beyond the Bible-study time, we’d like to both do something for the St. Alban’s community as well as doing something for the community at large. Possible ideas included a canned food drive and Habitat for Humanity. We may also try to find a ministry within St. Alban’s that has been neglected and work to help our church community in that way. If you have any thoughts on what we could do, please let us know.
·         It’s been discussed that without Jimmy, we really shouldn’t try to pull of the “St. Awesome’s” name. Please think on some possible names and we will discuss them soon.
·         Evening Prayer during Advent and Lent has been very beneficial to many people. We will be looking into providing that as a service for St. Alban’s and the surrounding community once a week, possibly on Tuesdays, year round Maybe we would like to invite St. Paul’s to join us?
If I’ve missed something, please let me know and I will update the blog. Thank you!
